Overview

This course provides an unrivalled opportunity to develop your techniques and skills prior to your final FRCS examination.
Some of the UK’s leading specialists in their field will be on hand to personally guide you through the procedures and provide invaluable feedback ahead of your final FRCS examination.

To ensure the very best experience, candidates will be split into small groups of three and rotate workstations every 30 minutes. Each workstation will have a least 1 or 2 faculty.

What’s Included:

*3 participating candidates per station, unlimited number of observers
*Each workstation includes 3 viva questions (1 per participant), 5 minutes for the question and 5 minutes for feedback
*Each delegate will rotate through all the stations
*Every participating candidate is given and outcome at the end of their question (Clear pass, clear fail, or borderline)
*Delegates will be divided into participants and observers

History and Examination for the FRCS (20 minutes)

Candidates are divided into participants and observers
2 participants per station, unlimited number of observers
Observers are not examined, but can ask questions.
Each candidate will rotate through all the stations
Each participant is given and outcome at the end of their question (Clear pass, clear fail, or borderline)
20 minutes per station and 5 minutes for comfort breaks and change of stations

      • Spine
      • Paediatrics
      • Adult pathology (upper limb )
      • Adult pathology (lower limb)
      • Hands
      • Trauma (upper limb)
      • Trauma (lower limb)
      • Intermediate case – upper limb
      • Intermediate case – lower limb
      • Short cases – upper limb
      • Short cases – lower limb

    Q&A 15 minutes

    Break after 7 stations (20 minutes)

    Total time 6 hrs

Q&A (15 minutes)

Total of 13 Workstations (20 minutes each) with a 20 minute break after 7 stations

Criteria for Marking

The following will be used as criteria for your final mark:

Methodical approach to your answer
Your ability for clear decision making
Minimal prompting
Familiarity with supportive literature
