Think the unthinkable. Say the unsayable.

Join us on Thursday 18th and Friday 19th June, at St David’s Hotel, Cardiff

Since its inception in June 2023, BAJIS has grown in strength, membership and reach, recognised Nationally and Internationally. In 2026 Rhidian Morgan-Jones invites you to join him in Cardiff for the annual BAJIS congress. We will bring together Surgeons, Microbiologists, ID Physicians, Nursing colleagues, Pharmacists and Industry all working collaboratively to take a contemporary overview of musculoskeletal infections.

The congress theme is ‘Think the unthinkable, Say the unsayable’. A challenge to faculty and delegates alike to look at what works and what doesn’t work in Orthopaedic infection. Periodically we need the freedom to challenge ourselves and look for options, solutions and innovative ideas that just might be the next big breakthrough?

We will be joined by National and International colleagues to give us a different perspective on PJI and FRI, is the UK way always right? Or just right for the UK?

Come and join us and be part of the BAJIS multidisciplinary team, putting patients first andmanaging musculoskeletal infections.

Where is MSK Infection headed?

Musculoskeletal (MSK) infection management is advancing toward more precise diagnostics, targeted therapies, and proactive prevention strategies. Innovations like rapid molecular testing, next-generation sequencing, and personalized antibiotic regimens are enhancing the accuracy and speed of infection detection and treatment.

Meanwhile, improved surgical techniques, novel biomaterials, and vaccine research are reducing infection rates and improving patient outcomes. As our understanding of biofilm formation and host-pathogen interactions deepens, the focus is shifting toward tailored interventions that balance infection eradication with tissue preservation. These advancements highlight a future where MSK infections are managed with greater efficiency, efficacy, and patient-specific care. find out more at BAJIS
